CORK VISION CENTRE TO HOST 2015 TEXACO ART EXHIBITION

The Cork Vision Centre at St Peter's on North Main Street, Cork is to be the venue for an exhibition of winning paintings from this year's 61st Texaco Children's Art competition. The exhibition will open to the public on Wednesday 5th August and will remain open each day from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm until it closes on Thursday 27th August next. Admission is free.

The official opening ceremony by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Chris O'Leary will take place at the Centre on Thursday 6th August at 6pm.

Amongst the 126 exhibits on show will be works by nine Cork students who took top prizes in the competition. They are Seán O'Reilly (6), a pupil at St. Anthony's Boys National School, Ballinlough; Pippa McIntosh (7), from Kinsale Art Academy; Michael Ahern (18), from Our Lady of Good Counsel, Ballincollig; Seán Drinan (17), from Christian Brothers College, Wellington Road; Maeve Boyle (8), from Creative Art Eglantine, Crosshaven; Jack Murphy (18), from Our Lady of Good Counsel, Ballincollig; Dara Murphy-Young (16), from Coláiste An Chraoibhín, Fermoy; Zbiggy Kadysaski (13), from Clonakilty Community College; and Nessa Malone (13), from Kinsale Art Academy.
